Hello Students:

Thanks for all of your thoughts after lecture today. I enjoyed preparing for that lecture, and it was so enjoyable to talk about it afterwards.

Here's how I would like you to prepare for the test on Wednesday:

1. Review the Quizlets. On Wednesday, I will take a few terms from each Quizlet and ask you to define them.

2. Prepare to present a response to one of the chapters from the Tao Te Ching.

*First, create a way to illustrate the chapter and what it means to you.
  • This illustration must be without spoken or written words.
  • You must use only your bodies. You may create a still "sculpture" with your bodies or a short non-verbal demonstration.

*Second, prepare to answer the following questions to present orally to your classmates.

What does this chapter mean to you?
How does it apply to your life or how you would you like it to shape how you live your life?
Or
What surprises you about this chapter and why?

You will have one full minute to speak. Plan what you are going to say so that you use the full minute but no longer. I will stop you at one minute.
Practice your pronunciation by asking native speakers how to pronounce difficult words.

Plan to speak without reading. If you are reading, I will take your notes.

Tomorrow, we will have time to work on this in class.
