Hello Students,
This week, our most important goal is to write well organized academic essays on Gilgamesh. Today, in class, we will use Chris's essay as an example to demonstrate how to use direct quotations correctly and how to explain evidence thoroughly enough. Please return to your own essays and CHANGE THEM. Add to them based on what we do in class.
Opportunities for Feedback
- I will continue to give feedback using Kaizena if you send me your essays or outlines that way.
- I will also meet any students during 3rd period today (Tuesday) in the library conference room for in-person feedback.
- Finally, I will attend study hall Wednesday evening to provide feedback.
All of you should finish a draft of the essay by Friday morning. Turn it in to me typed, printed and stapled to all previous drafts and outlines.
In addition to this, we will learn about the story of Moses and discuss the 10 commandments.
Then, we will learn some basic history and facts about Judaism.
Friday, we will attend lecture on the Dynastic Cycle in China. That should be an interesting lecture for you!
Monday, I will lecture on Daoism and Confucianism.
Plan to have some sort of exam next week. It will cover Mesopotamia, Judaism, Daoism and Confucianism. I will add another quizlet to the lecture review section. All information for the exam will be in the quizlets.
Remember that the best way to study is to start ahead of time and review more than once so that the information moves from your short term memory to your long term memory. Have some fun with the quizlets.
See you in class today!
Heather
