Dear Students,
I apologize for being late with this week's letter.
We have a short week. I hope that you have plans to enjoy these sunny days, because next week, the rain is coming.
I will return your tests to you by Thursday. I hope that you are each satisfied with how you did on the test. However, please remember that your book annotation and the essay writing you do is more important to me right now, because it is more challenging for you. It demands thought rather than memorization.
We will begin discussing the essay topic on Thursday. You'll finish the book over the weekend, and next week, you'll begin the essay.
I hope that you are enjoying the thoughtfulness of the book. It is written to force us to question ourselves, our own community, and what it means to be human. I will continue to push you to discuss those questions in class. You are always welcome to come to class with an idea or response to the book that you would like to discuss. Your participation is what makes class more interesting.
Heather
If you have not responded to the Question of the Week about goals, please do that. I learn about you by reading your responses!
