Hello Students,

I hope that you felt like you knew what you were doing as you wrote your paragraphs this weekend. I will collect them today and review them. Tomorrow we will begin the full outlines in class, then you'll write the actual essays - your third literary analysis essays of the year!

If you have a copy of your essay on The Giver or on Gilgamesh, now would be a good time to review them to refresh your mind about what a complete essay looks like and to set goals for how you would like to improve this essay. Please bring a copy of each of these old essays to class on Tuesday.

Today we will go to lecture. The new topic is Ancient Rome and the rise of Christianity. We will read sections of the "Sermon on the Mount" and some Christian Parables in class to introduce you to the primary teachings of Jesus.
